La Abuelita-A POTTERS SALT KILN
Sean has a special relationship to this salt kiln in Portland, Oregon. Professional potter Roberta Lampert sought Sean’s skilled welding workmanship and engineering expertise to build La Abuelita for her fine arts pottery studio. Salt being a very corrosive mineral continuously eats away at the steel frame. Sean is called out every so often to repair what salt oxidizes in the firing process. STEEL GREENHOUSE FRAME-DESIGN AND FABRICATION
Sean was challenged and inspired on this one! While the actual designing of the greenhouse frame was an effort in calculations and cutting, and after much trial and tribulation, each cut and weld carefully executed for accuracy, completion was reached and the rest is history! Precision TIG welding is Sean’s absolute love and it is evident he has the skills to build what will last a few lifetimes! The clients were impressed and gratified with the close attention to detail on their project, and Sean’s willingness to work in harsh weather conditions to compete the job in time for spring plantings!
